@Road®® Unveils New GPS-Based Services to Help Waste Companies Improve Routing, Eliminate Paperwork and Increase Workforce Productivity

WASTE EXPO, DALLAS, TX - May 18, 2004 - Booth #8015 -- @Road (NASDAQ: ARDI), a leading provider of mobile resource management (MRM) services, today introduced three new GPS-based services for the waste industry. The Bar Code Wand, CoverSheet and Roll-off Routing mobile resource management services from @Road let workers in the field automatically record, transmit and report on real-time, location-based information to streamline operations, reduce paperwork and dynamically route mobile workers and resources.

Waste companies serving residential, commercial and roll-off routes now have a way to analyze planned vs. actual schedules, on-time percentages, unmatched locations and optimize routes.

Bar Code Wand and CoverSheet

By scanning each customer code on arrival, the Bar Code Wand lets mobile workers and pick-up crews quickly and automatically timestamp proof of collection. These employees can also perform additional code scans designed specifically for on-route data collection to record obstacles, including locked gates, debris blockage, snow, ice, extra trash and other downtime criteria.

Information collected via the @Road Bar Code Wand service creates automated cover sheet summaries and enhanced reporting that can:

Roll-off Routing

Designed to automate route optimization for a company's roll-off routes, the Roll-off Routing solution from @Road can optimize route schedules based on customer criteria and an organization's business rules, such as pickup/drop-off location, drive time, employee availability, container type or city ordinances. In addition, Roll-off Routing provides dynamic dispatching capabilities, enabling companies to schedule unplanned jobs as they arise.
