What is the Trimble MRM University Learning Center?
The Trimble MRM University Learning Center is your “go to” location for MRM training. It’s basically a portal dedicated to training customers and employees. You will find eLearning courses, course catalogs, webinar event calendars and other important information. You can also use the portal to sign up and pay for courses online (where applicable), as well as for tracking the training for your role as it is assigned and completed.
How do I get to the Trimble MRM University Learning Center?
- Log in to your GeoManager account
- Click on the Service Center Tab
- Select the Training link
- Click the link to our Trimble MRM University Learning Center
- Note: First-time users will need to complete a short registration form to gain access.
What type of training is available?
We offer four types of training:
- eLearning - self-paced courses for every job role.
- Instructor-Led Training via Webinar – scheduled training events for those who prefer live instructor interaction.
- Private Training via Webinar - Perfect for companies who wish to take MRM University courses with examples and customizations using their own account.
- Onsite Training - For companies who wish to take MRM University courses at their corporate location with examples and customizations using their own account. A minimum 1-day purchase is required, with maximum 10 attendees per class.
Is there a cost for this training?
For a limited time, the core set of eLearning courses and Instructor-led Webinars is free-of-charge. This is subject to change at Trimble’s discretion. Private Customized Training and Onsite offerings are offered for a fee. Rates are provided on request; email TrainingMRM@trimble.com.
Where can I view a schedule of classes?
To view instructor-led webinar events, login to the Trimble MRM University Learning Center and select the “View Trimble MRM University Catalog button (blue circle).
Do you have recommended learning paths based on how I use the GeoManager product in my daily work?
Yes, the Trimble MRM University program is based on job roles or functions. Each job role has a recommended sequence of courses to take to help utilize the product most efficiently based on that role. Please see this representation in our Course List.
I read the job role descriptions, but I still have questions about the role that is best describes my work with GeoManager. What should I do?
Select the job role that is most closely aligned with how you use the product. After the initial eLearning course assignments are made automatically, you can review the entire list of eLearning offerings and select more eLearning courses that may suit your needs. You can add as many courses as you like to your personal list of assignments.
I read the course description, but I still have questions about the course content.
What should I do?

How long do I have before my Trimble MRM University Learning Center access expires?
As long as you are actively taking courses, there is no limit to your access. However, if you have not accessed any courses for approximately 90 days your account will be made inactive until you submit a request to reinstate it.
Are there reference materials associated with the course that I can take away and use when I’m interacting with the product on my own?
Yes, both the eLearning and instructor-led webinar courses offer Participant Guides, which can be printed for your use. The Participant Guide contains step-by-step instructions for how to complete the key tasks taught during the course itself, as well as helpful checklists, worksheets and reference materials to make it easier for you to put in practice what you learn.
What’s the best way to get started with the Trimble MRM University Learning Center?
Click on the link to access the Learning Center; then click on the button for New Users. After completing the self-registration form you can get started immediately by taking the GeoManager Overview eLearning course.

How do I sign up for an instructor-led webinar event?
To sign-up or register for an instructor-led webinar event, you must login to the Trimble MRM University Learning Center and select the “View Trimble MRM University Catalog button (blue circle). Then select the Webinar/Events tab to view the calendar of offerings. Click the course name and date you wish to attend. Add this to your shopping cart and complete the checkout process. Many of these offerings are free-of-charge.
For the instructor-led webinar events, what time do they begin and end each day?
All of the information is listed in the Trimble MRM University Catalog under the Webinar/Events tab. In addition, once you register for a course, you will receive the details for that course via email.
What is the cancellation policy for instructor-led webinar events?
Trimble customers are required to submit a cancellation notice no later than 48 hours before the instructor-led webinar event start date. No cancellations are accepted once the course begins. If no notice is given before the course, the participant relinquishes full cost of the advertised course cost.
All instructor-led webinar events are subject to cancellation by Trimble for up to one week in advance of the course. In the event that a class is cancelled, Trimble will refund your registration fee in full.
Can I gain certification after completing the eLearning and/or instructor-led webinar events?
Currently, Trimble MRM University is not tied to an official certification program. However, if you have a specific need, please email TrainingMRM@trimble.com with your request.
How do I sign up for an eLearning course?
To sign up for an eLearning course, you must first log in to the Trimble MRM University Learning Center. If you are a first time visitor, you will be asked to self-register. The self-registration form asks you to identify your job role as it relates to GeoManager. It is important that you answer this question as accurately as possible because the selection drives an auto-assignment of eLearning courses. You do have the ability to add more eLearning courses at any time by selecting the “View Trimble MRM University Catalog button (blue circle), then the Catalog tab, where you can view all eLearning course offerings by job role and add selections to your shopping cart. Many of these offerings are free-of-charge.
How long does it take to complete an eLearning course?
The duration of an eLearning course is listed in the description when you begin the course. Generally, they are between 15-60 minutes long if you take them continuously. However, eLearning courses are broken into a series of lessons and each lesson is no longer than 10 minutes. A learner may take one or more lessons at any given time and then simply return to take the remaining lessons another time. The Learning Center keeps track of where you are in the course and will allow you to resume where you left off. You can also retake courses if you need a refresher.
Can I take an eLearning course more than one time?
Yes, the eLearning courses are available for you to take multiple times. This can help refresh your memory if there is a lapse in your product use or if you need a refresher on completing a particular task. You can retake any portion or lesson of an eLearning course.
Are there tests associated with the eLearning courses and are they graded?
Each eLearning course has a 10 question “Knowledge Check” at the end. In order to “Complete” the course, you must take the Knowledge Check. The Knowledge Checks are graded and the scores appear in your My Status tab for your own records.
Do the eLearning Courses offer hands-on activities?
Yes, the eLearning courses include Guided Practices, which allow you to try the concepts you were taught within GeoManager. The Guided Practices can be repeated multiple times to ensure you have mastered the task presented.
What are the system hardware requirements for the online training?
For training through Trimble MRM University Learning Center, you need a Windows XP operating system, Internet Explorer 6.0 or better with Java and cookies enabled, sound card with speakers, a broadband Internet connection, and the latest Flash and Adobe Acrobat plug-ins installed. We are not responsible for locked-down personal computers, firewalls or pop-up blockers, which may prevent access to eLearning; however we will do our best to assist you if any problems should occur. The online training modules are best viewed in 1024 x 768 screen resolutions or higher.
Can I gain certification after completing the eLearning and/or instructor-led webinar events?

Can you provide training for my staff at my location?
Yes, we can provide training at your location or the location of your choice. You can select from any of the courses listed on our current Training catalog, or you can create your own course and course content. We can assist with any of your custom training needs. Is training available in languages other than English?
Our instructor-led webinar events and eLearning are only offered in English at this time. However, if you have a specific language need, please email your request to TrainingMRM@trimble.com. |
