Driver Logs automatically creates the daily log required by the Department of Transportation (DOT). Drivers are now able to enter duty status information directly into the iDT™ Internet Data Terminal. GeoManagerSM allows administrators to check the drivers’ hours of service and other statistics, and flags DOT violations.
The DOT requires motor carrier companies and drivers to comply with hours of service regulations. Drivers that operate a motor carrier and fall within the following categories must complete a driver daily log:
- Operate a vehicle greater than 10,000 pounds gross vehicle weight (Class 3)
- Travel more than 100 air-mile radius from reporting terminal
- Work more than 12 consecutive hours
- Transport hazardous materials
The present DOT hours of service regulation allows drivers to work for 15 hours per day, of which 10 can be driving. The weekly limits are 60 hours in seven days and 70 hours in eight days.
The @Road Driver Logs solution complies with the Federal Motor Carrier Regulations, Title 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Part 395 Hours of Service of Drivers.
The @Road State Mileage Report feature of GeoManager tracks the miles each vehicle travels in each state in the union. The miles reported can be used when preparing quarterly Fuel Tax Reporting for your company. You can even generate the report for a month or a quarter at a time.
When a customer subscribes to Driver Logs, GeoManager automatically predefines Form #8 with 8 fields. Four (4) of the fields are required for each entry of the duty status. The SPCL2 button on the iDT is automatically redefined as the main menu prompt button.
iDT: The iDT allows drivers to:
